The Prohibition
The prohibition, which started in 1920 and lasted 13 years, was a period in time when the manufacturing, transportation, and sale of all intoxicating liquids was made illegal. More simply put; alcohol was against the law. The Prohibition was strictly enforced by the 18th Amendment which stated the rules, laws, and boundaries of prohibition. As you can imagine, this was a hot subject within the '20s, and a lot of people did not agree with this new amendment. Consequently, people began to manufacture, transport, and sell alcoholic beverages such as wine, whiskey, and moonshine. In 1933, the prohibition was repealed by the 21st Amendment.
